Witchy Wednesday No. 2
Welcome to our second Witchy Wednesday! This week's reading comes from the “Cosmic Reading Cards- Activation Cards for the Soul” by Nari Anastarsia. This was the first deck that came into my life and I am excited to see what messages come through for the collective.

When I sat down with this deck and shuffled the cards, our two cards popped out at the same time!
Card #1

The first card for the collective reading this week is 32-Time out. When looking at this card, I am drawn to the imagery of the tree surrounded by this colorful energy. This imagery could be seen in one respect as you sitting within the power, within spirit, and letting that serene energy nurture your growth. It could also be seen as you staying calm and unmoved by the chaos of the energy around you.
If you look closely, you can also see that there is a face within the roots of the tree. I see activation at its crown chakra, which is also where the base of the tree begins. I find this intriguing because the crown chakra is how we connect with our knowing, with our connection to everything. With this in mind, this card could also be lending encouragement to deepen our connection with the unknown and surrender, so that we may also sit in quiet reverence, like the being on the card.
The guidebook offers another avenue to explore this card, offering that “chasing the clock and getting yourself caught up in the illusion of time has been taking its toll on you, dear one … recharge your body, mind, and soul … step outside [into] the natural world,” So, we may take the image literally and feel called to get outside (yes, even when it is cold!) to connect with the divine in nature. The guidebook expands on this saying that “by having this time to unwind and reconnect with the oneness of nature, you will feel refreshed and renewed to continue with your work with inner calm and peace.”
Card #2

The second card for our reading today is 34-Unconditional Love. This card shows an ethereal, celestial body, floating in a sea of stars, with a crown of light. We can also see that their crown, third eye, and heart chakras are the most lit up.
This card has a very strong energy. The figure is standing with an open posture and seems welcoming and expansive. Also, the guidebook shows that she speaks to the choice that we all have to live from conditional or unconditional love.
If we are living or giving conditional love, it is love “with conditions, attachments, fear, and judgements,” and this card prompts you to “ask yourself: from where does [your conditional love] stem? Most often you will find limiting thoughts and beliefs lingering in your subconscious. Deeper still, you may uncover the wounded child within you.”
This feels closely connected to themes of acceptance and shame. Where or when do you find it difficult to show your self unconditional love? If you find yourself caught in spiraling thoughts of shame and judgment, ask yourself if you would treat a friend or loved one the same way. Oftentimes we are our own worst enemy. How can you release those negative thoughts in order to embrace yourself as an amazing, chaotic, and fallible human being?
Reflection
The cards this week are inviting us to slow down and take stock of our lives. Where is it possible to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of our modern world in order to calm our minds, sit in silence, and just be? There is a deeply ingrained societal pressure to be perfect (or at least look that way), but choosing to not live from an authentic place drains our resources and can leave us feeling like a shell of a being.
It is vital that we take time with ourselves and learn to love our mistakes, oddities, and quirks. Being the same as everyone else is not only overrated, but extremely boring. Connect with what lights you up, with what your unique gifts and skills are, and start to take care of yourself in the way you deserve. Once your cup is filled, it will overflow, like the glowing halo in our second card, and your light will be able to raise others up. This is only possible if we are honest with ourselves about who we are and what we need.
Our guides, wise and well ancestors, and spirit are calling for us to reconnect with the wild, untamable beauty of both ourselves and the natural world. We each deserve to create a life that is filled with a deep, unconditional love and respect for our unique inner light.
